The presidency programme for COP26 showcased momentum from the whole of society, and focused on key issues to drive ambition and action.

In November, the UK, together with our partners Italy, hosted the 26th UN Climate Change Conference. The Glasgow COP was the culmination of work by the UK Presidency over the course of 2020 and 2021.

Progressing the negotiations was at the heart of the summit. Running alongside the negotiations, the UK Presidency held events that:

  • accelerated urgent action to secure global net zero by mid-century and keep 1.5°C within reach
  • helped communities and natural habitats to adapt to the impacts of climate change
  • demonstrated that public and private finance is being mobilised for the climate; and brought countries, businesses, civil society, and citizens together to deliver on the Paris Agreement.

All Presidency events were webcast on the UNFCCC website. You can access the webcast via the UNFCCC’s conference landing page.

Accredited COP26 delegates are also able to re-watch events on-demand via the COP26 Platform.
