Accommodation note sent from UNFCCC to National Focal Points

Dear Sir / Madam,

As you are aware, the UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow on 1-12 November 2021.

We are pleased to inform you that the UK government, through our accommodation provider MCI, has secured a number of city centre hotels in Glasgow and the surrounding area at competitive rates. MCI will be launching a booking portal early in the New Year, however we would like to offer your negotiation teams the opportunity to express accommodation preferences in advance of this, by filling in the attached form. Please send your completed form to by Friday 11 December 2020.

We will do our best to accommodate your preferences, taking into account specific requirements wherever possible. At this stage, this is an expression of interest and by providing your preferences, you are not under any obligation to stay in these hotels. Once you have submitted your completed form, MCI will review all requests and will be in touch to confirm your allocation and the necessary terms and conditions. Please note that the UK Government will not be covering the cost of accommodation, however we are pleased to offer this trusted and secure way to book your rooms; and to give early access to the top hotels in Glasgow and the surrounding area. The UK, in close collaboration with the UNFCCC, will be in touch with funded Party delegates in the New Year regarding accommodation arrangements. If you have already booked accommodation for your negotiation teams or intend to make separate arrangements, please let us know via

We will be releasing more information on a small number of additional properties exclusively for Heads of State/Government and a limited accompanying delegation early in the New Year. If your negotiations team booking will include your Head of State/Government please select one of the hotels marked with an asterisk, which we feel would be more suitable.

We understand that some Heads of State/Government and accompanying delegations may wish to make their own accommodation arrangements. If so, please inform us via of the location to assist our logistical planning.

On behalf of the UK COP26 Team
