The UK hosted the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October – 13 November 2021.
The COP26 summit brought parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Weather, climate and water extremes are becoming more frequent and intense around the world as a result of climate change.
Being prepared can save lives and protect the livelihoods of communities everywhere.
That's why today, @unitednations Secretary General @antonioguterres has commissioned the @wmo_omm to ensure that within the next 5 years, everyone on earth is protected by early warning systems against increasingly extreme weather.
The World Meteorological Organisation will lead the effort and present an action plan to achieve this goal at #COP27 this November.
